OUR STORY

Quality food is vital to our family. After Christina fell ill after the birth our second child, we learned she had thyroid autoimmunity and detoxification issues. Rejecting the idea of relying solely on pharmaceuticals, we knew there had to be a simpler, more natural way to heal and feel whole. So we embraced a healthier lifestyle through organic, local produce and raw milk which transformed Christina's health and our family's well-being. Now in Palisade, CO, we've launched Grand View Acres to bring premium quality farm products to our community. Our mission is to provide high-quality, 100% corn and soy free raw milk, heritage pork, and free-range chicken products.
From our table to yours!

About Our Animals
At Grand View Acres, we take no shortcuts when it comes to excellence in animal stewardship. From our certified A2/A2 Jersey cows, to our American Berkshire Association Registered Pigs, to our 100% corn and soy-free laying hens, we pride ourselves on providing some of the highest quality farm-to-table protein products in Western Colorado.

Our Cows
Jersey cows are considered elite for milk production because they produce highly nutritious, nutrient-dense milk with high butterfat (4.9%+) and protein content, ideal for cheese and butter.

They are highly efficient, producing more milk per unit of body weight than other breeds, while requiring less feed, space, and having a lower environmental impact.

Jersey milk contains 18% more protein, 20% more calcium, and 12% more phosphorus than average milk. It is also famously high in butterfat.

Our Jersey cows are grass-fed, rotationally grazed, and never given antibiotics, or growth hormones.

Our Pigs
Berkshire pigs were discovered by Oliver Cromwell’s army in Readings, shire of Berk, 300 years ago. Afterward, soldiers spread a tale of the "hogs of Berk", describing them as larger than any hog they had seen. They talked about the high quality flavor they provided, and in 1823 the first Berkshire Pigs were imported to the United States.

In 1875, the American Berkshire Association (ABA)was established & created a detailed testing process to ensure that when you buy Berkshire pork under the ABA seal, you are receiving 100% purebred heritage Berkshire pork.

To this day, registration through the ABA means heritage quality, clean genetics, and superior flavor. We are proud to say our pigs pass ABA standard.

Our Chickens
Locally hatched and raised, our laying hens at Grand View Acres alternate between a free range, open-air enclosure to a rotationally foraged, pasture-raised mobile coop dependant upon weather, local predator pressure (owls, hawks, foxes, etc) and times of flock increase.

In addition to their natural omnivorous foraging, they are supplemented with a 100% corn and soy FREE feed mix that is rich in protein, carbohydrates, minerals and vitamins to ensure adequate nutrition and stress-free laying.

The result is eggs that are TRULY low-pufa without any gimmicks or hidden markting jargon and hens that lay eggs out of abundance, rather than pressurized production.
